NEW Second Edition–
Stormwater Treatment
Biological, Chemical, and Engineering Principles

CHAPTER 8 – Precipitation: Precipitation is a unit process in which a settleable or filterable solid is formed by the chemical joining two or more inorganic dissolved chemical species, to remove one of the species. Precipitation may be natural or induced, the latter by chemical addition.

Some of the questions considered in Chapter 8

  • Is precipitation practical with stormwater treatment?
  • Which pollutants are most amenable to removal by precipitation?
  • Does precipitation occur naturally in stormwater treatment systems?
